9-14-12

I have been stitching the backstitching on "Waiting".  I originally did the piece with my mom.  She had started it, and when she passed away, I finished it for her to give to my grandpa, who was a retired fireman.  My brother sent me a pic the other day and in it was a pic of the stitched piece.  That is the first pic that I am showing.
This next pic is a pic of where I was at on 7-26.
This is where I am now.
The one that I am stitching on now is going to be either for a friend of my sons, who studied firefighting in high school, or his dad who is a fireman.  When this one is done, I am going to stitch this again for myself in memory of my mom and grandpa.

  2. That's a beautiful and ambitious piece. Is it by Paula Vaughan? I love her designs, but am unable to stitch from colour charts, so I've never completed one - I'm in awe of your desire to stitch this not just once, but three times!

  3. Thank you! No it is not by Paula Vaughan. It is by Jean Lanning. The pattern can be found at Art Ventures. It is not a color chart, it is just symbols. My mom passed away back in 1995, and when I am doing any type of stitching, I feel closer to her.
